I don't do this often.

I'm not much of a poet as much as I dream to be.

When Shiro said he had all the screws to fix Kuro, I cried. Talking about Tekkonkinkreet again, guys. If you haven't seen it, please watch it. Or read it.

And when I sat outside with my cat today...I had that moment. After being ousted by the family (he attacked my mother in March...she had to go to the emergency room), no one really pets him or talks to him or anything (sounds crazyyyyyy but animals enjoy your presence and communication I think). I'm the only one he still comes up to. And we just know when it's okay to touch each other. That intuitive feeling. There are days when I'm so down and out, I can't even stand myself. I don't want to be bothered, spoken to, looked at. And half the time, he would rather walk away or bite you than let you pet him.

He's never bit me. Never.

I walked outside today, just feeling those inky feelings in my chest, and he sat right next to me and stuck his head on my elbow. We didn't move. He looked at me, and I looked at him. I started petting him, and he purred. He never purrs. Unless he's with me. He crawled into my lap, and I rubbed his head for at least thirty minutes. We never said anything to one another, made no signals. Just sat, and I rubbed his furry skull.

Sometimes I feel like he has the same soul as I do, and we've both have those heavy chested feelings. Or maybe he just wanted a rub.

When Dad came home from work not five minutes after I came inside, he tried to pet Toby. And Toby ran away.

I know when I leave for college, I'm going to miss him most.

I have never had an animal or human understand me better than this cat. And we can't even speak the same language.

He has the missing screws to my heart. And I have the ones to tame his. How silly, right?

Toby when he was still in the house.

I will never be a dog person.

Marek

I haven't posted in a while. Mostly because I had been trying to finish rewriting a story I wrote effing forever ago. It's done now (hooray....) and now onto the other two (hooray...........).

Here's something I drew for a friend. I wanted to try out some nouveau. But I couldn't figure out what to do for a background so I thought I'd practice some architecture. It didn't come out very well and I definitely know my strengths lie in figure drawing over backgrounds. Especially since I don't draw them unless it's for school. I just don't have the attention span for it, and I crapped out about halfway through trying to figure out if I actually wanted to draw a Columbus Ohio skyline.

You can find her work here.

Well, at least the figure looks good. I need to color this...

Nothing new on the eastern front.

Sketch Dump Number 1

Okay. I figured I'd do it this way so I didn't swamp everyone's inbox with shit I never finished. Here it goes:

1. Head canons for my Drawing for Sequential Art class. A no named character currently, but I have been wanting to draw characters from Kyrii for a long time. He's a possible keeper.

2. More head canons of DFSA. She looks like one of those 70s chicks.

3. My version of Lone Wolf

4. Torin from Kyrii's ass.

5. Pig from Morpheus . He's Jamaican.

6. Benji    from Rubber Cement and Royal Clementines Black . I gave him a makeover over the winter break.

7. Genesis of Genesis Factory That was the first drawing of her and she's still a WIP.

8. :iconninjasaur: 's Ekan. I drew that about a year ago now. And we don't talk anymore. A lot changes in a year, but that was her character. He lacks ball sackage.

9. Tobias of Royal Clementines Black and Rubber Cement . My favorite OC because I draw him too much. I was still experimenting on revamping his tat and his hair in this picture. In the original, there's lines all over it where I noted that his torso was too long and a few other things.

10. Jed and Halle of Morpheus . They are always together. There's a few head canons on this page of them too. Guess where they are? It's a Where in the World is Waldo? game!

11. June and Genesis of Genesis Factory . That's my second drawing of Genesis (see? Muchhhhh better) and my first of June. I've since made him look better.

12. A little punk Alice from Alice in Wonderland. I thought it might be cool to revive the story in a punk modern story, but I've since stopped myself. But the character design is cute.

13. My mom said I couldn't draw nature and all I did was draw people. I decided to prove her wrong. Done on a camping trip. Will probably use those trees for a panel of Morpheus

14. Halle head canon

15. My version of Aladdin. His legs are too long.

16. Tch. Yeah. I'm a mechanic.

17. Still debating on using this character for Genesis's figure.

18. The FINAL and favorite version of Tobias I have drawn so far. I wanted to change him out of his super goth style into something more rocker/hipster. His hair is a little shorter now (it's gradually gotten that way, hasn't it?) and his eyes are a little more daring. I should also say his father, Kyrii looks about the same only without the triangle eye makeup, the lip piercings, and the "I hate my life' attitude. hahaha. Kyrii is from Kyrii (duh) and Tobias is from Royal Clementines Black and Rubber Cement .

Art Trades.

I am open for art trades in the event that I actually get artwork back in return. This is what I did recently for a friend on deviantart. You can check her page out here. Here is her character, Hinoki. Now, Hinoki is one of the coolest original characters I've had to draw and I love the way she always manages to look when I draw her. She's based off the Aburame off of Naruto. I don't know anything about Naruto, so I tried to do my best with what references I could find. Here is the original lineart:
And here is the colored version that I cel shaded on the computer. For some reason, the colors are grainy, but forgive me for it:
I'm pretty sure you can click on them to enlarge. Check it out. And shout me down if you want an art trade. Thanks guys!

Oh and the drawing I uploaded on the last post is currently being watercolored.

Summer Makes for Artist.

I dunno what it is about summer, but I actually have the ability to draw how I want to. I have the God hand on me right now. Everything looks pretty good.Mmm....except for Torin's waist. But you know....

Torin (left) and Kyrii (right) are two characters from my story Kyrii. It's my current project and the story was actually finished almost five years ago now. I'm currently rewriting it and working it to fit with how I first imagined it. Kyrii is a singer in the second story so there's his loving guitar. It's an Ibanez Artcore (more designed to look it than is...).

I didn't mean to hide his other foot. It's just how it happened. Also, I'm starting to realize that I draw Converse shoes without thinking on everything. I need to stop.

I will be watercoloring this tonight.

I listened to the Gorillaz's DARE at least 400 times while drawing this, and I think that's where the attitude for the drawing came from. I tried to draw Kyrii in that post Goth style I used to draw all the time without going so far as to put him in that rancid black lipstick and shit I had on him when I first wrote the story.

The cross is the same shape that should be on his back. I have to rework it a bit...

That's all I have for now.

Pearls.

I don't know how many people read Pearls Before Swine in the comic, but Pastis is genius. Observe:And if the comics don't grab you, his blog will. Check it.

Personally, I would go so far to say that he could possibly be up there with Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes. Maybe not in respects yet, but there hasn't been one comic so far when I've told myself, "Okay. Lame."

Maybe instead of being a comic book artist and concept artist...I'll work with newspaper syndicates.

Gary Larson and Bill Watterson were gods of their work. And here we usher in a new form of genius.
